ESISC is currently conducting a selection for 2 6-month unpaid internship positions.

Job description

• This is a full-time, 6-months, unpaid internship

• Location: Brussels or Paris

• Ideally the internship should start as soon as possible

• The internship will require your physical presence in Brussels or Paris only for the first 3/4 weeks of the 6-months internship for the induction period. After that you will work from remote.

• Important: Only for EU nationals or non-EU nationals in possession of a valid work permit. Ideally the intern should already be living in Brussels, Paris or in their surroundings due to administrative requirements. 

• The deadline for application is Sunday, March 31, 2019, 8 pm (CET).

Main tasks

• Monitor and analyse international media. 
• Monitor and analyse the threat caused by terrorism, organized crime, civil unrest and maritime piracy.
• Write reports and background notes.

Qualifications and Experience

• Master Degree or equivalent (preferably in Political Science/International Relations/Security Studies/Strategic Studies); 
• Fluent in English and French; additional languages, including Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, German and Arabic, will be considered an important asset;
• Excellent writing skills in English required; French is an asset;
• Knowledge of current international affairs, including security, terrorism and defence issues; 
• Flexibility and ability to work in a small but international structure; 
• Excellent communication skills; 
• Capacity in planning, monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on own work; 
• Dynamic and well-organised, with an eye for detail; 
• Demonstrated ability to work independently ; 
• Superior computer skills and ability to web-edit is an asset.

• Location: Brussels

Recruitment sessions are organised several times per year, so there is no fixed deadline for application.
